TWICE member Chaeyoung is dealing with health issues after being diagnosed with vasovagal syncope, a condition that can cause fainting because of sudden drops in heart rate and blood pressure.
According to Korean outlet Chosun, JYP Entertainment released a notice about her condition on the 20th. As reported, the agency explained, “Chaeyoung was recently diagnosed with vasovagal syncope and, based on consultations with specialists and thorough examinations, was taking a rest when it was concluded that she needs an additional recovery period,” and added, “After lengthy discussions, Chaeyoung has decided to suspend activities for the time being and focus on treatment, stability, and sufficient rest.”
As a result, Chaeyoung will be stepping away from all her activities to focus on medical care, rest, and recovery. This also means she will not be participating in important upcoming world tour stops in cities such as Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, and Bangkok.
JYP Entertainment further stated that she would spend the remainder of the year concentrating on rest and regaining her health. The company also mentioned that her well-being is the top priority, so she will only take part in upcoming schedules if necessary, and even then, only to a very limited extent.
The announcement draws attention to the physical and psychological strain that idols frequently experience as a result of their hectic schedules and highlights the significance of appropriate health management and recuperation in the entertainment industry.
Vasovagal syncope is known to be triggered by stress and exhaustion, causing fainting episodes because of a sudden drop in blood pressure, which helps explain the symptoms Chaeyoung has been experiencing.
Chaeyoung had been very active after releasing her first solo full-length album in September 2025, attending many events and interacting with fans worldwide. However, despite her dedication, the constant workload eventually started affecting her health, making this break necessary.
