The 46th Blue Dragon Film Awards turned into an unforgettable night for Korea’s beloved power couple, Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin. For the first time since their wedding, the actors attended the prestigious ceremony together and made history by winning the top acting honours in the same year. But it was an intimate revelation during Son Ye Jin’s acceptance speech that sent fans into an emotional frenzy. The actress publicly shared her son’s name for the first time.

Held on November 19 at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, the ceremony marked a series of firsts for the couple. Son Ye Jin, who won Best Actress for her role as Yoo Mi Ri in Park Chan Wook’s No Other Choice, expressed gratitude to her husband using his real name, Kim Tae Pyung. She then gently revealed that their son is named Kim Woo Jin, ending months of public curiosity.

Although she has affectionately referred to him as Alkong — a sweet pet name meaning “cutie”, the actress had never disclosed his official name until this moment. She told the audience that the joy of her award was something she wanted to share with both her husband and her son.

Hyun Bin, who later accepted the Best Actor award for his performance as Ahn Jung Geun in Harbin, also took the opportunity to acknowledge his family. Without quoting him directly, he conveyed that his wife’s presence gives him immense strength and that he feels deeply grateful for both her and their child. His affectionate words immediately lit up social media, especially as cameras captured Son Ye Jin forming a finger heart in response.

Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin, who married in March 2022 after starring together in the global hit Crash Landing on You, welcomed their first child on November 27, 2022.
