Singer RETA ends contract with Famous Entertainment

Famous Entertainment, the agency headed by rapper San E, is facing intense public scrutiny after singer RETA moved to legally terminate her exclusive contract, citing a disturbing incident involving an agency staff member who allegedly broke into her home and tampered with her belongings.

According to Koreaboo, RETA proceeded with the termination even though her contract period had not yet expired, arguing that the trust between her and the company had been irrevocably destroyed. The decision followed a case earlier this year in which a staff member from the agency, identified as Mr Jeong, reportedly entered her residence without permission and caused property damage.

Police conducted an investigation into the home intrusion and have since transferred the case to prosecutors. RETA stated that she never shared her home’s password with anyone at Famous Entertainment. This makes the unauthorised entry even more alarming. The singer asserted that this incident was a direct violation of her safety and privacy, prompting her to withdraw entirely from the agency.

Rapper San E was also implicated in RETA’s police complaint, although he was not ultimately charged due to insufficient evidence.

Nevertheless, the controversy places him once again under an unfavourable spotlight. In the complaint submitted in March, RETA accused San E and another company representative of “unlawful intrusion and concealment of property.” She further alleged that while she was abroad in China due to visa issues, San E instructed a company official to access her home and remove “furniture and personal belongings” that were stored there.

This is not the first time San E has faced controversy. In 2023, he was investigated for allegedly assaulting a passerby with his mobile phone, a confrontation that reportedly left the victim with “facial and dental injuries.” Although San E issued an apology through his attorney, the matter concluded only in March 2024, when prosecutors granted him a suspension of indictment.
