Popular K-pop group BTS has officially returned with new music after an almost four-year hiatus. One of the most eagerly awaited comebacks in music history, the band’s fifth studio album, ARIRANG, was released on Thursday.
After concentrating on individual projects and fulfilling their required military service, the seven members of the group—RM, Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—made a grand comeback with their new album.
ARIRANG’s title track, SWIM, is in full English and has a Lisbon-shot music video. The movie, which was directed by renowned filmmaker Tanu Muino, depicts the members as travellers traversing a huge ocean, signifying tenacity and fortitude after their protracted absence from the music industry.
The story of the music video takes place on a ship and follows a woman (Lili Reinhart) who seems lost and emotionally troubled. As the narrative develops, the BTS members subtly mentor and assist her, representing concepts of recovery and optimism. She breaks free from all of her bonds in the climax.
BTS ARMYs from all over the world complimented the song on their own social media accounts shortly after the music video was made public. Some admirers described it as "Song of the year," while others said they were moved by BTS's comeback.
