Actor Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, GOLD MEDALIST, has taken legal action, filing criminal suits against Kim Sae-ron’s family and Kim Sae-eui, the operator of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute.

The lawsuit follows the alleged sharing of a compromising photo of Kim Soo-hyun, where his pants are reportedly down, which was broadcasted live on Sae-eui's YouTube channel.

The photo, said to have been taken at Kim Sae-ron’s house, was shared without Soo-hyun’s consent, leading to the legal actions.

The complaint also targets an unnamed individual claiming to be Kim Sae-ron’s aunt, who is alleged to have provided the photo to Kim Sae-eui, facilitating its publication. The charges filed against them include violations under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes, specifically for the distribution of footage taken without consent.

The image, which depicts a moment when Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron were in a relationship, contains content that could be considered sexually humiliating for the actor and should never have been made public.

A statement from GOLD MEDALIST clarified, “Posting such a photo on a YouTube channel is clearly a criminal act, and Garo Sero has been threatening Kim Soo-hyun by stating their intention to continue releasing similar photos. Therefore, GOLD MEDALIST is left with no choice but to take strong legal action against such behaviour.”

The statement also emphasised that distributing or displaying such footage, which may provoke sexual desire or humiliation without consent, is a serious offence. The agency expressed hope that these actions would not be repeated.

Additionally, the agency addressed the ongoing spread of false information by Sae-ron’s family, which has fuelled baseless rumours online.

While the agency had refrained from taking legal action against them earlier, they stated that the unauthorised distribution of the compromising photo was a matter too grave to overlook. The actor’s legal team has made it clear that such violations will be met with swift legal recourse.
