Kim Soo Hyun acknowledges dating Kim Sae Ron, denies minor relationship, files 12 Billion Won lawsuit

South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun recently addressed allegations about his past relationship with late actress Kim Sae Ron during a press conference, following claims that they were involved when she was a minor.

South Korean actor Kim Soo Hyun, accused of dating later actress Kim Sae Ron whenshe was a minor, recently addressed their relationship during press conference.

The actor from "It's Okay To Not Be Okay" clarified that he had never been in a romantic relationship with Kim Sae Ron while she was underage, and also asserted that her alleged suicide attempt was not due to him.

He said that, "It seems that so many people are suffering because of me, and it breaks my heart that the deceased cannot rest in peace."

He also expressed that each instance of their private life with the Kim Sae Ron being revealed led to thoughts of publicly addressing the situation to end the distressing circumstances. However, they consistently hesitated, contemplating the potential consequences of their actions on others and themselves, and fearing that their decision might worsen the situation for everyone involved.

He further stated, “Except for the fact that both of us were actors, our relationship was just like that of any other ordinary couple.” as reported by Korea JoongAng Daily.

Kim Soo Hyun broke down as he spoke and confirmed that he and Kim Sae Ron had dated but that their relationship ended after a period of time. He said that they dated four years before Queen of Tears released, for almost a year.

He further explained that following their separation, they ceased all communication and had not been in contact since. He emphasized the sensitive nature of maintaining contact with a former romantic partner after a breakup, implying that their lack of communication was a natural consequence.

During the press conference, Kim Soo-hyun's legal representative confirmed that the actor had taken formal legal steps against Kim Sae-ron's family. Specifically, the lawyer disclosed that they had submitted a lawsuit to the Supreme Central District Court, demanding 12 billion won in compensation for damages. Notably, this legal action was pursued in conjunction with a separate complaint directed towards the individuals operating Hoverlab.

During the press conference, Kim Soo-hyun addressed another claim made by Kim Sae-ron's parents, refuting the allegation that his agency's CEO had pressured her for debt repayment. To substantiate his denial, he played an audio recording of a phone conversation between the CEO of Gold Medalist and a representative of Kim Sae-ron. This recording was presented as evidence to contradict the parents' assertion and demonstrate that no such pressure had been applied.

The YouTube channel Garosero Institute presented what they claimed to be evidence of a relationship between Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron, including photographs and written correspondence. Kim Sae Ron's family, who are grieving her loss, also reportedly asserted that the two had been romantically involved when she was a minor.
