K-Pop singer Kim Jong-kook will be officially joining the agency Galaxy Corporation, which also manages G-Dragon. The agency confirmed the news on September 10.
Galaxy Corporation CEO Choi Yong-ho stated, "We are very pleased to open up a new AI 'entertech' era with Kim Jong-kook, who has established a successful career as both a singer and entertainer."
As a part of this development, Kim Jong-kook will be gearing up for a special performance which will mark the completion of his 30 years since his debut.
Many in the industry were taken aback by the announcement because Kim Jong-kook has been managing his career on his own for more than ten years through Turbo JK Company, his own label that he founded in 2012. His decision also signals the end of a lengthy and dependable working relationship with manager Kim Gap-jin, who was director at Turbo JK and had been by his side since 2008.
As a sign of their deliberate but calculated growth in the entertainment industry, Galaxy Corporation announced that Kim Jong-kook is now only the second musician and the third artist overall to sign with them. He joined the agency because he shared their futuristic vision of fusing technology and artistry.

The Korea Herald quoted Galaxy Corporation as saying, “We are honored to open a new era of AI-driven entertainment together with him.”
The remarkable career of Kim Jong-kook speaks for itself. After the legendary singer Kim Gun-mo and the well-known first-generation idol groups H.O.T. and g.o.d., he became the fourth and last artist to win the grand prizes at all three major music awards in 2005.
