The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 was filled with excitement, insightful conversations, and memorable moments as 19-year-old Divi Pothukuchi from Telangana took the hot seat.

Host Amitabh Bachchan engaged in a delightful interaction with the young contestant, asking her about the pronunciation of her surname. A second-year Computer Science student at IIT Kanpur, Divi shared her aspirations of launching her own AI-based startup in the future.

During the conversation, Big B humorously remarked, “I won’t ask your age. But I just don’t understand why a woman doesn’t want her age to be revealed? Well, I won’t ask about your surname, but what does your name mean?” Divi explained that her name means “sky” in Sanskrit, while her sister’s name, Mahi, means “earth.” Amitabh Bachchan appreciated their culturally rich names, saying, “Kaafi sanskritik parivaar hai aapka.”

Divi’s first major question for Rs 10,000 was: Complete the name of this Agatha Christie story: And Then There Were_: A. Three, B. Two, C. One, D. None. She correctly chose option D.

This prompted Big B to share a nostalgic story from his school days. He recounted how, in 1956, he performed in a play based on the same novel at Sherwood College, Nainital. Playing the role of the judge, he amusingly shared an incident where he was mistakenly carried offstage as one of the dead characters. He further reminisced about winning the prestigious Kendal Cup for Best Actor in 1955, only to miss out in 1956 due to contracting measles just before the play. His father’s words, “Agar mann ki ho toh achha, agar na ho toh aur achha,” left a lasting impression on him, teaching him acceptance and resilience.

As the game progressed, Divi showcased her intelligence and quick thinking. By correctly answering the Super Sawaal, she won the Dugnaastra power. Discussing her future plans, she confidently stated, “I want to generate jobs for India. I want to start a start-up in computer science.”

Amitabh Bachchan playfully responded, “So you will hire people? With folded hands, I just want to ask, please let me know if there is a vacancy. If there are any jobs for which I can apply.”

To which Divi replied, “You motivate people. It will be an honor if you join my company. You can be the CMO – Chief Motivational Officer.” The host humorously asked, “If I am not able to motivate anyone, will you fire me? I don’t know how to motivate people. I will learn from you.”

Divi used the Audience Poll lifeline for her Rs 40,000 question. She then relied on the Double Dip lifeline for the Rs 80,000 question: What does the ‘I’ in API, a mechanism that enables two software components to communicate with each other, stand for? A. Intelligence, B. Interface, C. Integrated, D. Instant. She first selected option B, which turned out to be correct.

For the Rs 3,20,000 question, she used the Video Call a Friend lifeline: In which city where the Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar lived, did the revolutionaries of 1857 declare him as their leader? A. Patna, B. Bhopal, C. Delhi, D. Lahore. She correctly answered option C.

In the Super Sandook round, she won Rs 70,000 and revived her Video Call lifeline. She then used this lifeline for the Rs 6,40,000 question: In which of these locations in India can you go for scuba diving at Governor’s Reef? A. Chandigarh, B. Andaman & Nicobar, C. Puducherry, D. Lakshadweep.

Just before the call ended, Divi’s friend quickly shouted option D, which turned out to be the right answer.

Her next question for Rs 12,50,000 was: Who among the following was the first female Prime Minister of her country? A. Khaleda Zia, B. Sanna Marin, C. Helen Clark, D. Chandrika Kumaratunga. She confidently selected option A, which was the correct answer.

Ultimately, Divi took home Rs 6,40,000, displaying remarkable knowledge, confidence, and poise throughout the game. Her journey on Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 was not only inspiring but also filled with delightful moments and thought-provoking conversations with the legendary host Amitabh Bachchan.
