
Titanic actress Kate Winslet is all set to return to the big screen with a role in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum. The character details of the actress have been kept under wraps.
According to Deadline, a source shared that Kate will play the female lead in Andy Serkis' Middle-earth epic.
Kate had to relocate to New Zealand to film her portions in the movie from late May to October after Serkis and Peter Jackson spent most of last year persuading her to star in it.
The actress shot Jackson's 1994 film Heavenly Creatures there.
Oscar winner Kate will be part of a cast that also includes Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Elijah Wood as Frodo Baggins, and Serkis as Gollum.
These three actors have been linked to the roles since Jackson directed them in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in 2001 and the subsequent series of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit features based on J.R.R. Tolkien's renowned collection.
The upcoming movie centres on Aragorn's dangerous mission to apprehend Gollum before the monster can tell Sauron where the Ring is. The story takes place between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring and is mostly based on Tolkien's footnotes.

The source also noted that The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum will be filmed during this time outside the UK.
Pre-production for the movie, which will begin filming in May with Serkis in the director's seat, has lately taken him to Los Angeles and New Zealand.
Arty Papageorgiou, Fran Walsh, Phoebe Gittins, and Philippa Boyens wrote the script for the Warner Bros. production. Zane Weiner, Boyens, Walsh, and Jackson will serve as producers.
