Actress Kate Winslet is all set to make her feature film directorial debut with the Netflix family drama Goodbye June. She will also co-produce the movie with Kate Solomon and she will also star in it.
According to Netflix, Goodbye June is a touching, yet humorous drama that centers on a fractured group of siblings who come together in the face of unexpected and challenging circumstances. As per The Hollywood reporter, set in present-day England, the film is set to begin production soon in the U.K.
The cast will include Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Timothy Spall, and Helen Mirren. Notably, the screenplay has been written by Joe Anders, the son of Kate Winslet and her ex-husband Sam Mendes, which adds a personal connection to the project.

Additionally, Winslet was recognized for her role in the HBO limited series The Regime, where she earned yet another Golden Globe nomination.
Earlier, in a conversation on the How to Fail podcast, Winslet shared her belief that as more women step into directing roles, it will inspire others to follow suit, ultimately transforming the industry. Drawing from her extensive experience in front of the camera, she feels that now is the ideal time for her to transition into directing.
