Kareena Kapoor wishes Priyanka Chopra

Kareena Kapoor Khan surprised fans on July 18th by sharing a rare old photo and a heartfelt message to congratulate fellow actress and former rival Priyanka Chopra on her birthday.

In addition to making fans happy, the gesture served as a reminder that the two Bollywood women's top stars have actually put their alleged disagreements behind them and are now friendly.

Kareena shared a sentimental photo of the two actresses performing on stage at a previous event on her Instagram Stories. The image shows Priyanka delicately adjusting Kareena's makeup—a private, unguarded moment that moved many.

Kareena wrote atop the picture, “You were always meant for global domination. Keep soaring PCJ, no one like you. Happy birthday.” The message was widely circulated online, with fans applauding the bond and mutual respect that now exists between the two stars.

For those who don't know, Kareena and Priyanka costarred with Akshay Kumar in the 2004 movie Aitraaz. Rumours of rivalry circulated after the movie's premiere, allegedly heightened by an incident that occurred during a concert tour in Antwerp, Belgium. Rumours of a significant fallout between the two reached the height of speculation.

In a past interview with Mid-Day, Kareena addressed the so-called feud, stating, “No, no, no, all rubbish. I was like, ‘What is going on?’ But I think maybe we all had that energy – you know, some sort of thing, where we were all wanting to prove ourselves.” She reflected on how, during the '90s and early 2000s, alleged rivalries were often overblown by the media. “Today, I mean, you don’t even hear those things,” she added.

Their cold war even spilled into episodes of Koffee With Karan, where Kareena once quipped, “I wonder where Priyanka got her accent from.” To which Priyanka famously replied, “I think it’s the same place that her boyfriend (now husband Saif Ali Khan) gets it from.” However, both actresses eventually shared the couch on Season 6 of the show, putting an end to years of speculation.
