Karan Johar snaps back at trolls calling him 'nepo kid ka daijaan' after he praises Saiyaara debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda

Filmmaker Karan Johar has recently penned a lengthy praise for debutants Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda for their strong performances in Saiyaara. He also hailed the crew of the film for making the blockbuster.

However, Karan received trolls for praising Ahaan, who is Anaya Panday’s cousin and Chunky Panday’s nephew. Several critics took to the comment section of his post and trolled him, but Karan slapped back at the critics.

After a critic commented, “A gaya nepo kid ka daijaan,” Karan responded with a befitting reply.

Karan replied, “Chup kar!!! Ghar baithe baithee negativity mat paal! Do bachon ka kaam dekh !! Aur khud kuch kaam kar!!!! (Shut up!!! Don't sit at home and nurture negativity! Look at the debutants’ work!! And do some work yourself).”

While complimenting the cast and crew of Saiyaara, Karan penned, “I don’t remember the last time I felt like this after watching a film …. Tears flowing and yet the feeling of immense joy… Joy for the fact that a love story has conquered the silver screen and made the nation fall in love…”

He continued in his post, “Proudest that my Alma mater @yrf has bought love back!!! Back to the movies …. Back to our Industry…. Adi I love you and feel so proud to say that I am a YRF student for life! @awidhani what a debut as producer!!! That ball is now officially out of the park! Congratulations!”

He added, “@mohitsuri makes the best film of his career and am blown away by his storytelling , his craft and his magnificent use of music… the music is not just a pillar but a character in this film….”

The filmmaker further noted, “What a debut @ahaanpandayy !!!! You broke my heart and yet energised me as a filmmaker… your eyes spoke volumes and I can’t wait to see your journey ahead…. You are spectacular!!!!”

“Welcome to the movies !!! @aneetpadda_ you gorgeous girl… how lovely and amazing are you!!! Your silences spoke volumes and your vulnerability and strength moved me to tears…. Both Ahaan and you were beyond magical!” continued the filmmaker.

Karan concluded his post by writing, “My congratulations to the entire music and technical team of #saiyaara .. ( special mention to the brilliant editing team) and a special shout out to the casting queen @shanoosharmarahihai ! Love you Shanoo!!!”
