Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions appoints Bhumika Tewari as Head of Content Acquisition & Global Film Distribution to strengthen ties with local talent and filmmakers while setting up offices across India.

Dharma Productions is embarking on an exciting new chapter by expanding into film distribution, marking a significant milestone for the powerhouse studio. Spearheading this ambitious initiative is Bhumika Tewari, who has been appointed as the Head of Content Acquisition and Film Distribution Worldwide.

For the first time, Dharma is venturing into the distribution space, acquiring films across multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, and Marathi. Under Bhumika’s leadership, the studio will not only handle the distribution of its in-house productions but also collaborate with external filmmakers to bring diverse stories to a wider audience.

To facilitate this expansion, Dharma Productions is establishing offices in major cities such as Delhi, Punjab, Hyderabad, and Chennai. These strategic locations will help forge stronger ties with regional industries, fostering collaborations and enhancing its distribution network.

Speaking about this new direction, Karan Johar, Chairman of Dharma Productions, shared his enthusiasm: "Entering the distribution space is a significant step forward for Dharma Productions, and we are pleased to have Bhumika Tewari lead this initiative.
