Actor Kangana Ranaut has openly shared that there was a time when her mother would tell her that women should focus more on homemaking. Talking about those moments during an interview with Brut India, Kangana revealed that she initially found her mother’s perspective quite outdated and even considered it a silly notion. However, over time, she began to see a different side to the argument.

Kangana explained that as she matured, she started to appreciate the importance of balancing both personal and professional lives. While she always believed in women breaking barriers and pursuing their careers, she also recognised the value of nurturing a home and the power of choice that women have in shaping their own lives.

Kangana said, "My mom used to say, as a woman, you should be more invested in homemaking, from making achar (pickle) to ghee (clarified butter) to how to grow vegetables. I used to think that mom is saying such stupid things, what does it matter."

She added, "I used to think that I was one of the youngest and richest women in the country. But today I am saying the same thing...I think that is the evolution of women. I read a quote that ‘you are not born as a woman, but you grow to be a woman’... Today, my mother is happy and she thinks I have matured and become wiser."

On the work front, Kangana Ranaut was last seen in Emergency, where she portrayed the role of the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film, which was released in cinemas on January 17, explored the period when Indira Gandhi declared a national emergency, lasting from 1975 to 1977, and the aftermath of those 21 months.

The film also featured Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Milind Soman, and the late actor Satish Kaushik.

Now, Kangana has embarked on a new venture, opening a restaurant called The Mountain Story in Manali. In a past interview, she had mentioned her desire to open a cafe, and she has now made that dream a reality.

The Bollywood actress celebrated the grand opening on Valentine's Day, February 14. The Mountain Story is now officially open to the public.

Kangana shared her thoughts with the guests at the inauguration, saying, "The Mountain Story, a dream nurtured since childhood, now blossomed in the heart of the Himalayas. This cafe is more than just a place to dine; it’s a love story-a tribute to the aromas of my mother’s kitchen and the serene beauty of these mountains,"

She went on to say, "Each dish on the menu is crafted with care, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients that celebrate the richness of our land,"
