After dating for a number of years, Suriya and Jyothika, one of the most adored couples in Tamil cinema, were married in Chennai on September 11, 2006. After getting married, Jyothika took a hiatus from acting, but she later returned to the industry with success. The couple is proud to have two children: a son named Dev was born in 2010 and a daughter named Diya was born in 2007.
