Actor and director Justin Baldoni landed in another legal controversy after the Blake Lively lawsuit. The actor faced harassment accusations from another It Ends With Us co-star.
Isabela Ferrer, who played the younger version of Blake’s character, Lily, in the film based on the 2016 novel by Colleen Hoover, has accused Justin of “harassing" her through legal pressure connected to his ongoing legal battle with Blake.
According to People, Isabela’s lawyers have claimed that Justin has “engaged in bad faith tactics.” The lawyers have filed their motion “for improper purposes and with the aim of harassing" Isabela.
Isabela’s lawyer further alleged that she complied with Blake’s subpoena and submitted the relevant communication. The lawyers said, “Baldoni made no effort to tailor the subpoena towards the production of new or different materials, demonstrating that the real aim of the Baldoni Subpoena, as well as the pending Motion, is to harass Ms. Ferrer.”
The lawyers also alleged that the filings have even compromised sharing her home address with the public.
Additionally, the 24-year-old actress claimed that her acting contract said that Justin Baldoni’s Wayfarer Studios at It Ends With Us Movie, LLC, promised that they will cover the cost if she were drawn into any legal battles related to the movie, but it didn’t actually ‘honour the obligations’.
The lawyer further alleged that the company agreed to pay the fees only if Isabela “confirm that she will ‘surrender control’" of her response, “not actually allowing Ms. Ferrer to provide the documents that reveal the true facts."
For the unversed, Justin Baldoni’s lawyers filed a motion with the court, alleging that Isabela Ferrer has been unreachable and unresponsive to their subpoena on August 12. The actress’s lawyers filed a rebuttal in response on August 17. They have asked the court to deny the subpoena against the actress and impose sanctions on Justin Baldoni.
