The makers of the Jenna Ortega-led series Wednesday have officially announced that the hit show has been renewed for a third season—well ahead of the premiere of its second season, set to debut next month.
On Wednesday, July 23, Netflix took to Instagram to confirm the news with a post featuring Jenna holding a glowing orb marked with the number “3.”
The caption read, “Triple threat. Wednesday has been renewed for Season 3. Watch Wednesday Season 2, part one out 6 August and part two out 3 September, only on Netflix.”
Wednesday, a new television adaptation of The Addams Family by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, is based on the beloved character developed by Charles Addams. Wednesday Addams' quest to solve a murder mystery connected to her school, Nevermore Academy, was the focus of the first season.
Following Wednesday's valiant deeds that saved Nevermore, Season 2 begins, but instead of acclaim, she is greeted with awkward celebrity. When she has a terrifying vision in which she holds herself accountable for her flatmate Enid's (Emma Myers) death, things take a darker turn.
