Janhvi Kapoor has finally made her eagerly awaited red carpet debut at the 78th Cannes Film Festival adding a hint of ethereal elegance to the French Riviera.
The Bollywood star effortlessly combined traditional Indian elements with modern haute couture in a stunning custom creation by designer Tarun Tahiliani, which she wore to the esteemed event.
The ensemble, which was depicted in a gentle blush tone, included carefully hand-pleated fabric that embraced a structured and contemporary aesthetic while emulating the traditional saree silhouette.
The draped pallu-like dupatta, delicately placed over her head and shoulder, added a regal and almost vintage touch, while the corset-style bodice exquisitely sculpted her figure.
Janhvi shared glimpses of her Cannes journey on Instagram, She captioned the post as, “#Homebound at the 78th #CannesFilmFestival ”
The entire ensemble was adorned with intricate details and textural elements, which turned it into a masterpiece for the red carpet.
Janhvi completed the elegant yet striking look with layered pearl necklaces, a tidy low bun, and sparse makeup in shades of soft pink and well-defined eyes.
Joining her were her co-actors Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa, acclaimed director Neeraj Ghaywan, and celebrated producer Karan Johar. The film marks a significant entry in Indian cinema’s international footprint, and the team’s presence at Cannes underscored its global ambition.
Renowned filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan's Homebound features prominent performances by Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, and Vishal Jethwa.
This year's Cannes Film Festival will feature the film's premiere in the Un Certain Regard section. The project has attracted a lot of attention from around the world, which has increased its appeal. This is especially true because of the participation of renowned director Martin Scorsese, who is the executive producer.
Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra, are the film's producers; Melita Toscan Du Plantier and Marijke de Souza are co-producers. Ghaywan is returning to Cannes after his critically acclaimed 2015 film Masaan was also screened in the Un Certain Regard section.
