Jung Ji-woo firmly responds to intrusive rumours about her private life

Influencer, businesswoman, and older sister of BTS member J-Hope, Jung Ji-woo, has firmly responded to the increasing volume of intrusive rumours and offensive comments about her private life.

She recently used Instagram Stories to denounce a flurry of unfounded internet rumours, especially those pertaining to her pregnancy status, calling the situation "out of hand."

In a direct and impassioned message, Ji-woo shared a screenshot of a particularly offensive comment, written in Korean, which read: “Aren’t you pregnant? Or you lost the baby? There is no bump and you are wearing tight clothes and doing exercise,” accompanied by a sad emoji.

Clearly disturbed by the unsolicited speculation, she responded: “…? Was about to reply, but the comment disappeared. We’re trying for a baby, but there’s nothing to share yet. Still, I’m honestly shocked that someone I don’t even know could ask such a personal and inappropriate question about our private life. Even my close friends wouldn’t go there."

Ji-woo further expressed her dismay at the constant stream of assumptions being spread without any factual basis. “When did I ever say ‘I’m pregnant’? I’ve said nothing, but some people here are making up stories like they’re confirmed facts. Now it’s gone from ‘she’s pregnant’ to ’she had a miscarriage’ to ‘she’s out drinking’? Seriously?"

She concluded with a firm plea for decency, saying, “I’ve been ignoring it because it’s so far from the truth, but it’s getting out of hand. Show some respect, please."

Ji-woo, who married in 2021, has previously spoken about her desire to start a family. In a heartfelt conversation with her younger brother J-Hope in March 2025, she shared her excitement about becoming a mother. J-Hope warmly responded, “If it’s a nephew, I anticipate having so much fun with him,” adding that he’d “spoil a niece with gifts.”
