Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who is renowned for making films like Arjun Reddy and Animal, has been slamming some serious posts on social media and speculations are running high in Bollywood about the reason behind it.

Currently working on the long-anticipated Prabhas-starrer Spirit, Vanga posted a cryptic post with a few choice words directed towards an unidentified actor, whom he accused of breaking someone’s trust and playing “dirty PR games.”

A Post That Got the Industry Talking

On Monday the director wrote on X, suggesting that an actor had shared sensitive information concerning his film and undercut a younger co-star. Though he didn’t take names, the post came in after reports that Deepika Padukone had walked out of Spirit over creative differences. The filmmakers had weeks before announced Triptii Dimri as the female lead of the film.

"When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, You've 'DISCLOSED' the person that you are... Putting down a Younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for? (sic)," he wrote.

The filmmaker didn’t end with that. This before that, he heard, his “having spent years of his creative life scorned by an actor, who he says never really got the depth of his work.

“You didn’t get it. You won’t get it. You’re never going to get it,” he continued, throwing an indirect dig at the actor’s supposed inability to understand his cinematic vision.

Vanga ended the post with a Hindi proverb and added:

As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft & for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn't get it. You won't get it. You will never get it. Aisa karo...Agli baar poori kahani bolna...kyunki mujhe jarra bhi farak nahi padtha (You know what? Go ahead and reveal the entire story the next time. I hardly care).. #dirtyPRgames I like this kahawath very much - Khundak mein billi khamba niche (An embarrassed cat scratches the pole) (sic)," he added

Deepika Padukone's rumoured exit sparks speculation

It was previously reported that Deepika Padukone, who was initially signed to play the lead opposite Prabhas, walked out of the project citing issues with the script, dates, salary and profit-sharing stakes. Even though Deepika or the production house is yet to make the announcement, her unceremonious exit from the project surprised many especially since she was the highest-earning actress of the project.

Whereas, the production house had gone on and announced Triptii Dimri hot off the success of Animal as the new lead for Spirit. Recalling as yet one more big project for Dimri who is finding her feet in the pan-Indian cinema.

What’s Next for Spirit?

Spirit, a fast-paced cop drama will be the next big one for Vanga after the monstrous hit, Animal. There’s also rampant speculation that South Korean actor Don Lee might join the cast, for which there is no official announcement yet.

The makers have not yet revealed the full cast, crew, and shooting schedule of the film, but the buzz around Spirit is getting hot—now ignited by the controversy.
