Indian Idol 12 winner Pawandeep Rajan met with a serious road accident on May 5th near Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, while enroute to Delhi to catch a flight to Ahmedabad for an event. The accident took place early in the morning when the vehicle he was travelling in—an MG Hector—collided with the rear of an Eicher Canter lorry. According to the official investigation, the car’s driver, Rahul Singh, reportedly fell asleep behind the wheel, causing the accident.
Travelling with him were his close friend Ajay Mehra and the driver. Following the crash, Pawandeep was rushed to a nearby medical facility, where he underwent his first emergency operation. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was later shifted to a more equipped hospital in Delhi NCR.
