Ice Cube, Kevin Hart in talks for 'Ride Along 3'

After a decade-long gap, Ride Along may finally be gearing up for a comeback, with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart in talks to reprise their roles.

Actors Ice Cube and Kevin Hart are in negotiations to return for the third installment of the action comedy film ”Ride Along” after 10 years.

Daniel Gold is expected to write the script for the Universal film. Filmmaker Tim Story, who has directed the previous two installments is also in talks to return for direction, according to the entertainment news outlet Variety.

Hart and Ice Cube essay the roles of brothers-in-law in the film series, who happen to both work in law enforcement, each with drastically different levels of expertise, which leads them in the middle of Florida’s various crime underworlds.The first film released in 2014 and went on to earn over USD 100 million at the global box office.

It was followed by another installment in 2016, which grossed USD 90 million at the global box office.Cube’s latest work is ”War of the Worlds”, which released in 2025. It was directed by Rich Lee.Hart will feature in ”72 Hours”, an upcoming comedy film directed by Story.
