Ibrahim Ali Khan has talked candidly about his personal life, especially his upbringing in a prominent family and the advice he received as a new actor in the business, as he enters the spotlight with his acting debut in Nadaaniyan.
The young actor opened up about the emotional dynamics of his parents' divorce and how it influenced him and his sister, Sara Ali Khan, in a recent interview with Rajeev Masand.
Ibrahim talked about how his parents handled their separation with dignity, having been raised mostly by his mother, veteran actor Amrita Singh, following her 2004 divorce from Saif Ali Khan.
“I was four or five years old, so I don’t remember much. It was probably different for Sara as she was older. But my mom and dad have done a great job of ensuring I didn’t feel the pain that comes with a broken home. I never saw them lose their cool at each other. Some things are just not meant to be,” he shared, highlighting the maturity and emotional care both parents demonstrated during a sensitive time.
Today, Ibrahim sees both of his parents in a good place personally and emotionally. “Now my dad is much happier with Bebo (Kareena Kapoor Khan) and I’ve got two very handsome and naughty brothers. And my mom is the best mother ever. She takes great care of me, and I live with her. It’s all good,” he added with warmth, speaking of his extended family with affection.
Despite receiving mixed reviews for Nadaaniyan, Ibrahim remains optimistic and grounded, largely thanks to the advice he received from two seasoned stars — his father and Priyanka Chopra. “My dad said this is not the year 2000 when a star can just walk around in a movie and it can be a blockbuster. Today you must be very prepared, and be a quick learner. Most importantly, he said the script and the filmmaker are two things you cannot compromise on.”

He continued, “The second one was from – Priyanka Chopra. She sent me a very sweet message saying she watched the film and thinks I have a bright future. She said I have to hold my head high and keep grinding; and that I must grow a thick skin. Coming from someone as accomplished as she is, I felt really comforted and motivated.”
According to reports, Ibrahim Ali Khan will co-star with South Indian actress Sreeleela in the upcoming sports drama Diler. In addition, he will co-star with veteran actress Kajol in Kayoze Irani's film Sarzameen.
