After creating history at the Emmys 2025, Owen Cooper continues his streak and won his first Golden Globe on Sunday night. He has won a Golden Globe for male actor in a supporting role on television for his role in Adolescence.
Owen won the award at age 16, becoming the youngest winner in the category ever. He has officially beaten Chris Colfer, who was 20 when he won for “Glee” in 2010.
Owen is now the second-youngest male Globe winner in history. Ricky Schroder, star of "The Champ," won New Star of the Year in 1980 at the age of nine.

While accepting the award, Owen delivered an emotional speech. He said, “Standing here at the Golden Globes does not feel real whatsoever. What an incredible journey me and my family has been put through. We are forever grateful for what these people have done for me and my family.”
The actor further noted that he was the only boy in his drama class, and while “it was embarrassing,” he “got through it.” He also admitted he’s “still learning every day,” especially from those actors in the room.
Owen Cooper was nominated against Ashley Walters (Adolescence), Billy Crudup (The Morning Show), Jason Isaacs (The White Lotus), Tramell Tillman (Severance) and Walton Goggins (The White Lotus).
