In a candid conversation on a recent podcast, musician Xavier Trudeau — son of former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau — opened up about his impression of Katy Perry, who is currently dating his father. The 18-year-old described Perry as “cool” and “really nice,” affirming that their interactions have been warm and supportive.
"Yeah, I have met Katy Perry. She's cool, she's really nice," he told influencer Guy Hobeika aka DrHobs, in a car podcast. Xavier added that he has talked to Katy at length about music. "We've sat and we've talked for like hours, just talking about my music," he said, adding, "She's given me advice, and like the next steps for me and stuff."
Xavier, who is pursuing his own career in music under the stage name Xav, said he has met Perry in person and that they’ve spent significant time talking — not about politics or headlines, but about his musical aspirations. “Every time I return from the studio, I'd share my latest work with them, and we'd listen together.”
The young musician’s comments come amid growing public interest in Perry’s relationship with Justin Trudeau, which became widely known in 2025 after they were seen together publicly and later confirmed their romance on social media. Perry and Trudeau have been spotted supporting each other at events and in public appearances, signalling a strong and evolving bond.
In December 2025, Katy made the relationship Instagram official, sharing affectionate photos from their trip to Tokyo, Japan, where they were photographed enjoying time together — including eating lunch and exploring cultural sights side by side.
Trudeau also acknowledged the trip while interacting with world leaders. These posts marked one of the rare times the pop star publicly embraced the relationship on social media. Sources now describe their bond as having “gotten much more serious” by early 2026, with both spending increasing time together despite busy schedules.
