Hina Khan praises Mrunal Thakur for apologising for old remark

Actor Mrunal Thakur has recently sparked controversy after an old video of her talking about Bipasha Basu’s body resurfaced on the internet. Mrunal has since issued a public apology, and now TV actress Hina Khan has chimed in to her support.

Hina took to her Instagram Story and shared Mrunal’s apology letter praising her for taking responsibility and owning up to her mistake.

Hina wrote in the caption, “Wisdom is the fruit of the tree of Knowledge, rooted in experiences. Evolution of our social skills, communication and depth of understanding only comes with TIME We all make mistakes, especially when we are younger.”

She added, “I can very well relate to Mrunal, I too have made such silly mistakes in the past.. Some of us go through great exposure without the skill to handle it. But with time we evolve, we become kinder, we become compassionate.. We learn lifting each other up.. Fixing each other’s crown.”

Hina further suggested that both Mrunal and Bipasha Basu have had inspiring journeys in Bollywood. She penned, “Just like all of you I too have witnessed both Bipasha’s and Mrunal’s inspiring journeys in the industry… Both are fab, And Bipasha is an icon for the whole community.”

“I am so glad and proud that Mrunal could own her mistake, committed by her past self that no longer exists. Wanted to share my appreciations for both these phenomenal women who changed the face of Indian film industry,” she continued.

Hina then requested everyone to ‘end this circus’. She wrote, “And @bipasha your MUSCLES inspired a generation of women including me and @mrunalthakur Lots of love to both Bipasha and Mrunal, now can we plz end this CIRCUS.. let’s spread LOVE and be kind. let’s try and make each other stronger while we acknowledge our differences.”

For the unversed, the video, which was first uploaded years earlier by Telly Bytes on YouTube, was from the early days of Mrunal's career when she used to appear in Kumkum Bhagya.

She can be seen talking to co-star Arjit Taneja and asking him, "Do you want to marry a girl who is manly with muscles? " When Arjit responded that he would prefer a toned body like Bipasha Basu, Mrunal made a wry remark, "Go marry Bipasha then!" Mrunal continued to say, "Listen, I am much better than Bipasha, ok."
