Actress and politician Hema Malini participated in the Maha Kumbh on Monday evening, where she had the privilege of meeting Junapeethadhishwar Mahamandaleshwar Acharya Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj, also known as Pujya Prabhushri Ji. She also took a holy dip at the sangam.

During her visit to the Prabhu Premi Sangh Kumbh Camp, she engaged in a meaningful conversation about spirituality with the revered spiritual leader.

The gathering was a moment of reflection and spiritual exchange, with Hema Malini expressing her deep respect for the teachings and wisdom shared by Swami Avdheshanand Giri Ji Maharaj. The event further highlights her commitment to connecting with the spiritual traditions of India.

She expressed her gratitude after taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam on Mauni Amavasya Wednesday, and said, "I am feeling great. I have never had such an experience before. Today is a very special day, and I am fortunate to take the holy dip,"

"Iss shubh avsar par mujhe yahan snan karne ka mauka mila, yeh mera saubhagya hai. Bahut hi accha laga hai, itne karooron log aaye hue hain, yahan mujhe bhi sthan mila, nahane ka. Dhanyavad." [It is my good fortune. I feel very happy that, among the millions of people who have gathered here, I too got an opportunity to take a holy dip. Thank you."] she continued.

Many social media users have suggested that authorities should consider restricting celebrities and dignitaries from attending the snan until the crowd had settled. The event was overshadowed by a stampede-like situation, as massive crowds of pilgrims gathered. Officials confirmed several casualties following the chaos that erupted on Wednesday during the holy bath on Mauni Amavasya.

In response to the chaotic situation, the Akharas decided to cancel their traditional Amrit Snan for Mauni Amavasya. However, devotees continued to take holy dips at Sangam and other ghats within the Mela area. The Amrit Snan on Mauni Amavasya is a highly significant event during the Maha Kumbh, attracting around 10 crore pilgrims. This year, the occasion was even more special due to the rare celestial event, Triveni Yog, which occurs once every 144 years, further amplifying the spiritual importance of the day.

Around 2 am, the sound of sirens from ambulances and police vehicles pierced through the chants of mantras and shlokas that resonated throughout the Kumbh Mela. The injured were quickly transported to the central hospital established within the Mela area, where many of their relatives, along with senior officials, gathered to offer support and oversee the situation.
