Nora Fatehi's statement on feminism causing societal harm stirred debate and garnered backlash from diverse sources, including Richa Chadha, known for her outspoken views on gender equality.

In a recent turn of events, Richa Chadha openly disagreed with Nora Fatehi's comments on feminism made during a podcast with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia. Nora Fatehi's assertion that "feminism ruined society" sparked controversy and drew criticism from various quarters, including Richa Chadha, who is known for her vocal stance on gender issues.

Richa Chadha expressed her disagreement in an interview where she discussed her views on Nora's understanding of feminism. She was surprised by Nora's perspective and highlighted the foundational benefits and goals of the feminist movement. Richa stated, "The cute thing about feminism is that it accepts those that seek the benefits of feminism but deny being a feminist. The reason why someone is able to have a career and choose what they want to wear and work where they want to be independent, have those choices is because of feminism and because of predecessors who decided that women need to be out there working jobs, not just being at home."

Richa further clarified her point by stating that Nora's views might stem from a "misguided reaction to the visual of some misinformed bra-burning chaos from the late '60s. It’s not really a real understanding." She emphasized that the misconceptions about feminism do not reflect its true intentions and accomplishments.

In her interview, Richa elaborated on the roles of women and men in society, asserting that these roles should not be rigidly defined but should allow for shared responsibilities and opportunities. "All roles are defined, not as gender roles, but as, just as people who are sharing the responsibility of bringing a child into the world. And I don’t fully agree that woman should be this way. And not this way. I’m surprised it was said at all, actually," said Richa, stressing the importance of equality and cooperation in modern society.

Nora Fatehi's comments on the podcast were seen as a setback by many who advocate for women's rights and equality. The backlash she received underscores the sensitivity and complexity of discussions around feminism, which many believe has been a pivotal force in advancing women's rights and societal progress.

Richa Chadha, on her part, continues to engage in projects that promote strong female narratives, such as her current role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic drama 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.' This project, along with her public statements, showcases her commitment to portraying and advocating for complex, powerful female characters and stories in the media
