Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja blames 'wrong circle' for husband's absence in films, says, "Sab wah-wah karne waale log hain"

She stated that she believes the influence of some of the individuals in Govinda's life, who might not be looking out for his best interests, is primarily to blame for his lack of appearances in films.

Actor Govinda has been visibly absent from the film industry for several years, and now his wife Sunita Ahuja has shed light on the reasons behind his extended break from acting.

In an interview with The Powerful Humans, Sunita addressed the factors contributing to his career hiatus, pointing to a toxic inner circle and his hesitation to evolve with the changing landscape of cinema.

She stated that she believes the influence of some of the individuals in Govinda's life, who might not be looking out for his best interests, is primarily to blame for his lack of appearances in films. She believes that Govinda should adapt to the times rather than remaining mired in the 1990s.

She stated, "Why hasn’t Govinda been seen on the big screen for the past 17 years? Because the circle around him is completely wrong. Sab wah-wah karne waale log hain. Mera aur Govinda ka jhagda bhi hojaata hai kyunki main naa jhooth nahi bol sakti aur chaplusi nahi kar sakti. Aaj iske pass ek writer hai, secretary hai, ek friend jaisa vakeel hai, sab faltu. Kyunki sirf wah-wah karna hai. Wah chi chi bhaiya kya kamaal kardia. Abey tu sach toh bol. Hum sach bolte hain to chidhta hai voh (Everyone around is just there to flatter. Even Govinda and I end up fighting because I can't lie or butter people up. Today, he has a writer, a secretary, a lawyer who acts like a friend — all useless. Their only job is to keep praising him. “Wow, amazing brother, what brilliance!” But hey, at least speak the truth! When I speak the truth, he gets irritated.)

She further added, "I told him, the 90s are over. It’s 2025 now. Look at what’s working today—Netflix and OTT platforms. But he’s stuck in his "Wah-Wah Productions" circle. "I told him to change the people around him, because as long as those four or five people are with him, they won’t let him grow."

Govinda last appeared on the big screen in the 2019 film Rangeela Raja, directed by Sikander Bharti and produced by Pahlaj Nihalani. Unfortunately, the film failed to make a mark at the box office, and since its release, the veteran actor and politician has stayed away from the silver screen.
