Anushka Shetty's Ghaati hit the screens on September 5, 2025. The Krish Jagarlamudi-directed movie, which co-stars Vikram Prabhu, received mixed reviews when it first came out, but because of its huge digital rights deal, there is still a lot of buzz about it.
Industry reports claim that Ghaati has acquired Anushka Shetty's largest digital rights sale to date. The streaming rights have been purchased by Amazon Prime Video, and the movie is anticipated to be available on the service in October 2025, roughly a month after its theatrical release. So it should likely be available for streaming in the first week of October. According to sources, the production team has already recovered a sizable portion of the budget thanks to the lucrative deal.
Anushka plays a strong, independent woman who gets sucked into the drug trade and becomes a feared criminal in the two-hour, 37-minute movie, which has a U/A certification. Anushka's dominant on-screen persona and the film's gritty tone are praised in early reviews. Her longtime friend and former co-star Prabhas also gave the movie high marks, describing it as "intense and intriguing."
In addition to Anushka and Vikram Prabhu, the ensemble in Ghaati includes John Vijay, Ravindra Vijay, Jisshu Sengupta, Jagapathi Babu, Raghav Rudra Mulpuru, and Chaitanya Rao Madadi. After several delays, the film's release date was finally set for September 5 after first being set for April 18 and then July 11.

In addition to Ghaati, Anushka made news recently when she was questioned about a possible reunion with Prabhas. The actress said she would be open to doing so, but she made it clear that it would have to be "something equally impactful or entirely different" from Baahubali. If both find the right script, "we will work on it together," she continued.
Ghaati represents another daring phase in Anushka Shetty's career with its robust box office performance and a record OTT deal.
