Celebrity MasterChef winner and Anupamaa star Gaurav Khanna is currently featured on the reality show Bigg Boss. But since he refused to prepare meals for his fellow housemates, he has been the target of harsh criticism.

In a recent episode, when house captain Kunickaa Sadanand proposed that Khanna take on the role of cook in the most recent episode, Khanna refused, claiming that he is incapable of preparing Indian cuisine.

After social media users brought up the fact that he had just won the most recent season of Celebrity MasterChef India, the criticism intensified.

Clarifying his stance, Gaurav's team issued a statement on X and stated, "Let’s be clear MasterChef and Bigg Boss cooking aren’t the same. At MasterChef, #GauravKhanna worked with guidance, preparing one plated dish with finesse. In #BiggBoss, it’s about cooking for people, daily meals, and no supervision. Before Celebrity MasterChef, #GauravKhanna had never cooked at all. The show was about learning, adapting, and performing under immense pressure."

"Winning that title was about determination, not prior skill. Trolling him and Judging him today on the basis of one statement about Indian food is unfair. We stand by you #GK," the post concluded.

Guarav's fellow participant and friend Rajiv Adatia also come in support of the actor and defended him.

Addressing the current discussions regarding the former's culinary skills, the latter remarked, “Winning Celebrity MasterChef and preparing meals for 20–25 individuals daily in Bigg Boss are two entirely distinct challenges."

He added, “He demonstrated significant improvement from being a novice to someone capable of creating impressive dishes. That was the essence of the show. But in Bigg Boss, preparing everyday Indian meals for 20 people is a whole different ballgame,”
