Bigg Boss 19 is nearing its finale, and emotions inside the house are running higher than ever. One moment that stood out during the pre-finale press conference was Gaurav Khanna’s heartfelt defence of his wife Akanksha Chamola’s personal decision to not have children. The actor, who has emerged as one of the season’s strongest contenders, was put in an unexpectedly vulnerable position when a journalist questioned the couple’s choice.

Gaurav, who recently won the Ticket to Finale and became the first confirmed finalist of the Salman Khan-hosted season, was asked whether Akanksha’s choice to not have kids was a “calculative move” to gain viewer sympathy. The question visibly shook him. Holding back his emotions, he tried to keep his composure before responding. “This is a very touchy…” he said, pausing as the weight of the moment settled over the room. He then added firmly, “I love my wife. Main har vo baat manunga jo meri biwi kahegi.”

His response became one of the most-discussed moments of the press conference, as viewers noted the sincerity in his voice and the loyalty he expressed towards his wife. The conversation also opened a window into Gaurav’s personal life and the couple’s long-standing decision regarding parenthood.

This wasn’t the first time the Anupamaa actor addressed the topic publicly. Before entering Bigg Boss 19, Gaurav had spoken about it during an interview with Siddharth Kannan. In that conversation, he shared that Akanksha has chosen not to embrace motherhood, and he completely respects her feelings. “It’s been nine years since our marriage. She doesn’t want kids. I have to respect that decision,” he said. He also added, “If a woman is not ready, then you should not force her. But yes, I love kids. She loves kids, but she has her reasons for not… because absolutely, a mother’s frame of mind is absolutely essential for the child. Ma, ma hoti hai yaar.”

The actor’s openness, both then and now, has struck a chord with many who appreciated his stance on respecting a partner’s autonomy in deeply personal matters.

Gaurav and Akanksha tied the knot on November 24, 2016, in a three-day wedding celebration held in his hometown, Kanpur. The couple has largely kept their relationship private and drama-free, making this moment of public vulnerability even more significant.

As Bigg Boss 19 heads into its grand finale on December 7, Gaurav will be competing against Malti Chahar, Amaal Mallik, Farrhana Bhatt, Tanya Mittal and Pranit More for the trophy. With the finale approaching, his emotional honesty has added another layer to his journey inside the house, generating conversation far beyond the game’s usual boundaries.
