‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ controversy

The latest controversy has centered around the song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke, featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt. The song has been heavily criticized for its explicit lyrics and movements. The song has been termed “cheap” and has been removed from YouTube. This goes to show the direct impact that the audience has on the content being produced currently.

‘Tateeree’

Another controversy that shook the music industry in the year 2026 was the song Tateeree by rapper Badshah. The song, a Haryanvi track, was heavily criticised for its explicit content. Badshah was accused of objectifying women and crossing the limits of the culture. The Haryana State Commission for Women stepped in and cases were registered against the rapper. Eventually, the rapper had to apologise and remove the song.

‘Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai’ controversy

However, way back in 1993, Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai from Khalnayak caused huge outrage due to double-meaning lyrics. Despite being a chartbuster, it was banned on Doordarshan and All India Radio as it was considered obscene and women were offended. The song featured Madhuri Dixit.

‘Sexy Sexy Mujhe Log Bole’

Another song, Sexy Sexy Mujhe Log Bole, which released in 1994 as part of Khuddar, also faced trouble due to the use of the word ‘sexy.’ This led to a huge backlash, and the makers had to eventually change the lyrics to ‘Baby Baby Baby.’

‘Aaja Nachle’

The title track of Aaja Nachle, which was released in 2007, also faced a huge backlash due to a particular line that was considered casteist in nature. This led to a ban on the track, which was later changed to avoid any further trouble.
