After a successful screening at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival, where fans in return responded with an overwhelming warmth and emotions. Mercy continues its journey on an international stage. The film will be honored with the prestigious nominations for Best Film and for the Best actor at the love and Hope International Film Festival in Barcelona.
After Barcelona the film will be travelling to London Independent Film Festival where the team looks forward with Mercy with the audience while carrying forward the film’s message of love, grief and acceptance.
Mercy, which stars Raj Vasudeva, Niharica Raizada, Kunal Bhan, and Adil Hussain in a special role, is a moving look at love, grief, and the ability to let go. The film directed by debutant Mitul Patel, is a moving examination on acceptance, memory, and the resilience of the human spirit that attracts with its delicate depiction of a family navigating the difficult reality of losing a loved one.
After the success screening of the movie at different international film festivals including the Indian International Film Festival, the film continues to gather love from the audience as well the critics.
The journey of the film began with the trailer launch at Cannes Film Festival where is was embraced with an emotional touch.
Lead actor and producer Raj Vasudev expressed his feelings and stated, ““I feel truly overwhelmed by the love and encouragement audiences have given us at every festival so far. To see people connect so deeply with Shekhar’s journey is humbling. Every kind word, every tear, strengthens our conviction to keep telling stories that matter.”
Asil Hussain also shared, “I am humbled to see Mercy crossing continents. Every film teaches us something new and this is no different, Mercy holds a special place in my heart as it comes from the depth of belonging, love and despair which gives all characters the depth to dig deep in the sea of emotions like never before. The film produced by Raj Vasudev and Anuradha Sachdev under the banner of Everclear Films follows their award-winning short Forbidden, which also tackled the honor killing and has been screened in more than 30 global festival.
