Film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has landed in legal trouble. A man has lodged a complaint against the filmmaker and two others, alleging fraud, misbehaviour, and breach of trust.
According to news agency PTI, police sources revealed that the case has been connected to Bhansali’s upcoming film, Love & War.
The reports have suggested that Prateek Raj Mathur has filed a complaint, claiming that he was given a contract as a line producer by Bhansali, but it was later cancelled.
The complaint has also been lodged against the film's producers, Arvind Gill and Utkarsh Bali, at the Bichhwal police station on Monday, following a court order.
Circle Officer (Bikaner Sadar) Vishal Jangid informed PTI that Mathur has accused Bhansali and two of his team members of removing him from the project without payment after assigning him responsibilities as the line producer.
The officer further revealed that police have registered charges of fraud, criminal conspiracy and criminal intimidation against the filmmaker.
Prateek has also alleged that he made all necessary arrangements for the shoot of the film and coordinated with government departments as required. He further claimed that Bhansali and others allegedly misbehaved with him when he went to meet the film team at a hotel.
Govind Singh Charan, SHO of Bichhwal, is currently investigating the matter.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War is touted as an epic saga and features Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal in the lead roles. Ranbir and Vicky will portray Indian Air Force pilots in the upcoming film.
Love & War has been under production in Rajasthan. (With PTI Inputs)
