Long after the film's release, viewers are still moved by Fahadh Faasil's iconic performance as the quirky gangster Ranga in the 2024 blockbuster Aavesham.
Ranga's status in popular culture was cemented by the character's exuberant personality, Fahadh's contagious dancing skills, and the film's catchy soundtrack, which inspired a flurry of social media memes and Reels.
To the amusement of his co-star Kalyani Priyadarshan, the actor recently shocked fans by resuming his role as Ranga during a public event.
Students can be heard cheering as Fahadh takes the stage and performs some of Ranga's signature oddball dance moves in a video that has gone viral online. Fahadh went all in, embracing the legendary swagger of his favourite character after making fun of Kalyani, who appeared both impressed and a little hesitant. As the actor revelled in the playful moment, the audience erupted in delight, their phones ready to record every move.
The upbeat performance happened at a promotional event for Fahadh's next movie, Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, in Kerala. Director Althaf Salim, producer Aashiq Usman, and co-star Revathy Pillai were also present. Ranga GIFs and heart and fire emojis swiftly took over social media, demonstrating the character's enduring appeal.
For those who did not know, Aavesham presented Ranga, a Bengaluru-based Malayali-Kannadiga gangster whose full name is Ranjith Gangadharan. One of the most talked-about performances of Fahadh's career, Ranga was brought to life by his quirky demeanour, unconventional attire, and captivating on-screen persona.

Justin Varghese is the composer for the upcoming film, which is directed by Althaf Salim and produced by Aashiq Usman under Ashiq Usman Productions. Anuraj OB, Vinay Forrt, Revathy, Lal, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Fahadh Faasil are among the cast members.
The movie will be released on August 29 during Onam. Interestingly, it will compete fiercely at the box office with Hridayapoorvam, which comes out a day earlier and stars Mohanlal, Malavika Mohanan, and Sangeeth Prathap.
The fact that Kalyani's other project, Lokah: Chapter One – Chandra, will also be arriving at about the same time will only heighten the excitement.
