Maareesan OTT release: When and where to stream the Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu starrer

After its theatrical run, the Tamil comedy-thriller Maareesan, which starred Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles, is ready for its digital premiere. The film, which was directed by Sudheesh Shankar, opened in theaters on July 25 and was well-reviewed by both reviewers and viewers. Even though Maareesan did well at the box office, the news of its OTT debut has created new buzz.

The movie's producers have confirmed that it will be available for streaming on Netflix starting on August 22. With the caption, "Get in guys, we are going to Thiruvannamalai," the platform shared a poster on social media to announce the news. Maareesan is available on Netflix as of August 22. The movie will be accessible in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam.

The ensemble cast consists of Renuka, PL Thenappan, Vivek Prasanna, and Kovai Sarala in addition to Fahadh and Vadivelu. The narrative centers on Dhaya (Fahadh Faasil), a small-time thief who meets Velayudham Pillai (Vadivelu), an elderly man suffering from Alzheimer's. Dhaya's attempt to defraud the elderly man slowly turns into a multi-layered adventure that combines elements of a road movie with a gripping thriller tone, full of humor, emotional conflicts, and treachery.

In an interview, Fahadh Faasil acknowledged that he wasn't certain Vadivelu would accept the part, but he maintained that the movie would only feature him. "Vadivelu sir had to be involved if we were doing it in Tamil," Fahadh recalled. Critics praised the unlikely pairing, which gave the film a unique dimension.

In the future, Vadivelu has not yet disclosed his next project, while Fahadh will next be seen in the romantic comedy Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira. Beyond its theatrical run, Maareesan is expected to reach a larger audience with its OTT release.
