The 77th Emmy Awards had its fair share of lighthearted moments, and one of the funniest came courtesy of Jake Gyllenhaal and Cate Blanchett.
During the ceremony, Selena Gomez, her fiancé Benny Blanco, and co-star Steve Martin from Only Murders in the Building were seated among the audience and posed for photos. Directly in front of them, Gyllenhaal and Blanchett—both sitting in the front row—realised they were in the frame. In a playful effort to avoid photobombing, the pair ducked down, drawing laughter from those around them.
Adding to the hilarity, Steve Martin quipped that they should “bend down further,” sparking even more laughter in the crowd. The candid moment quickly became one of the night’s most viral highlights.

In September 2024, Hulu officially renewed the hit mystery-comedy for a fifth season. Filming took place from March to June 2025, and the ten-episode season premiered on September 9, 2025, just days before the awards.
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco made a loved-up appearance on the red carpet. With their wedding reportedly set for later this month, the couple turned the evening into a stylish pre-celebration, posing together and sharing a kiss in front of cameras.

Selena stunned in a custom Louis Vuitton gown, a striking bright red creation with a high neckline, sweeping train, and dramatic presence. She elevated the look with dazzling Tiffany & Co. jewels, including platinum and 18-karat gold earrings set with unenhanced rubies and diamonds. Benny Blanco complemented her glamour with an understated black tuxedo, adding a touch of his signature personality through a beaded shirt that gave the classic look subtle flair.
