The 77th Emmy Awards, which are the biggest night on TV, are underway in Los Angeles on September 14. Comedian Nate Bargatze is hosting the most coveted show that honours the Television personalities, shows and more.
The night is going to reward the finest in comedy, drama, and limited series, with new ones and returning favourites vying for the top prizes.
Netflix's 'Nobody Wants This', HBO Max's 'The Pitt', and Apple TV+'s 'The Studio' are all first-time nominees. 'The Studio' has already made history by getting 23 nominations, making it the most-nominated rookie comedy. Severance and other returning favorites are also leading the way with 27 nominations.
The winners get to take home the famous golden Emmy trophy, but the ceremony is about more than just awards.
The Emmy Awards Giving Suite is a private area behind the scenes where all the nominees can choose from luxurious gift bags and other items. According to People, the nominees get a lot of carefully chosen gifts that make the event even more special.
Distinctive Assets, a marketing business that makes gifting experiences for other big award ceremonies, is producing the Giving Suite for the first time this year.
There are beauty, health, and lifestyle products in the suite. Some of the best things are skincare from Miage, flowers from Blooms by Maison d'Emilie, tumblers from HydroJug, and high-end cosmetic products from L'Oréal Paris, Chanla Chau Cosmetics, and Redken NYC.
Along with a little bit of luxury from Johnnie Walker Blue Label Scotch, there are also wellness companies like 1MD Nutrition, Beekeeper's Naturals, Designs for Health, Helight Sleep, and Vital Proteins.
Not Simple Gifts
There is a reason for the glitz and glam, not simply the gifts. The Giving Suite helps the Television Academy Foundation, which pays for internships, the College Television Awards, and the project The Interviews: An Oral History of Television, which tries to keep the history of television alive. The suite has raised more than a million dollars for these programs in the last ten years.
It's interesting that not all victors get more than one trophy. Only one official statue is presented to each winning entry, and the name of the winner is carved into it. Studios and production firms can acquire statues to honor their work, and nominees also get diplomas or plaques thanking them for their work.
In the past, including 2021, sponsors are said to have spent thousands of dollars to be in the Giving Suite, with some spending as much as $250,000 for a prime location. Stars also have to agree that they might have to pay taxes on the expensive things.
Lash Fary, the founder of Distinctive Assets, said it best: "We honor the best stars on TV while also supporting the amazing work of the Television Academy Foundation." We want to make the Emmys even better by giving out great presents and supporting a cause that helps young people become great television stars.
