Neeraj Faridpur and Bhau Ritolia, two gangsters purportedly connected to the Himanshu Bhau gang, have claimed responsibility for the gunfire outside the Gurgaon home of Bigg Boss winner and well-known YouTuber Elvish Yadav on Sunday.

The pair claimed in a social media post that they had targeted Yadav for allegedly endorsing a betting app "that has destroyed many households."

The incident occurred when Elvish was away from home, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. The family, who were inside the house at the time, remained unharmed.

Speaking about the frightening episode, Elvish’s father, Ram Avtar Yadav, stated to PTI, “In the CCTV footage, three miscreants can be seen, out of which two are clearly visible. The police administration is doing its job well.”

He further explained that the shots were fired from the first floor, while the Yadav family resides on the third floor, which likely prevented any casualties.

As per TOI, the incident was handled quickly by the authorities. Soon after the shooting, police officers surrounded the area and started reviewing nearby CCTV footage. A comprehensive investigation is being conducted to identify and capture the suspects, senior Gurgaon police officials confirmed.

Concerns regarding the safety of Indian public figures, especially social media influencers like Elvish who have a sizable online following, have been raised by the attack. The incident emphasises the growing risks faced by celebrities who become the subject of online controversies or criticism, even though the gangsters' stated motivation revolves around a betting app.

Though Elvish Yadav himself was not present during the attack, the episode has reportedly left the family shaken. The police continue to review evidence, including witness statements and digital footage, to track the perpetrators. Ram Avtar Yadav’s comments underline the family’s reliance on law enforcement to manage the situation effectively: “The police administration is doing its job well.”

The incident has brought attention to the impact of online content on real-world repercussions and the significance of increased security measures for prominent people as investigations continue. In an effort to stop such dangerous incidents from happening again in the area, the Gurgaon police have promised to hold those responsible accountable.
