Ahmed Khan, the director and choreographer known for his innovative dance moves, recently shared the captivating story behind the creation of the iconic Dhan Te Nan hook step from Vishal Bhardwaj's Kaminey.
The high-energy song, picturised on Shahid Kapoor and Chandan Sanyal, wasn't initially choreographed in the typical sense; instead, the actors were encouraged to create their own spontaneous moves.
However, at Vishal's insistence, Ahmed Khan did create one signature step for the song. Ahmed Khan's revelation provides a glimpse into the creative process that made the song and its dance so memorable.
Ahmed Khan recently shared an interesting story about the iconic hook step of the successful track. He said, "I was inspired by the fighting sequences of the 80's films. Amitabh Bachchan, Sir, and Vinod Khanna, ji, when they used to do particular action scenes, that is how their hands and movements used to be, which was very interesting. When you go to a disco, the movements are very impromptu by the audience dancing there, and I wanted to have that exact vibe in the track."
Ahmed Khan has some of the most popular tracks from Rangeela, Satya, Ghajini, Kick, and many more to his credit.
Ahmed Khan is yet to start the marathon schedule of his much-awaited movie Welcome to the Jungle that will be shot in picturesque locations of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The shoot of the movie is scheduled to kickstart soon.
