Dipika Kakar undergoes 14-hour long surgery for stage 2 liver cancer, husband Shoaib writes: "She’s in some pain, but stable"

Shoaib informed all fans and well-wishers via an Instagram Story that Dipika's surgery went well and although she is in a little pain, she is currently recovering.

Actress Dipika Kakar underwent a 14-hours long surgery for stage 2 liver cancer on Tuesday, June 3. Her actor-husband Shoaib Ibrahim shared her latest health update after the surgery, on Wednesday.

Shoaib informed all fans and well-wishers via an Instagram Story that Dipika's surgery went well and although she is in a little pain, she is currently recovering.

He wrote, "Hi everyone, Sorry I couldn’t update you last night, it was a long surgery. She was in OT for 14 hrs. But Alhamdulillah, everything went well. Dipi is currently in the ICU. She’s in some pain, but she’s stable and doing okay."

He then thanked everyone for their prayers and expressed his gratitude for his wife's better health and also said that he would keep updating about her progress. "Thank you all dil se for your love, prayers, and support, it truly means a lot. I will update you all once she’s out of the ICU. Thank you once again Keep praying for her," he concluded.

Taking to his Instagram Story on Monday, Shoaib shared that 28-year-old Dipika is scheduled to undergo an extensive surgical procedure as part of her treatment for the illness.

"Dippi's surgery is scheduled to happen tomorrow morning. It's going to be a long surgery... She needs all your prayers & strength the most... Please keep her in your prayers," he wrote.

Shoaib disclosed that Dipika had been diagnosed with a "tennis ball-sized" liver tumor in a vlog that was uploaded to his official YouTube channel on May 15, 2025. He stated at the time that more tests were being conducted to ascertain whether the tumor was malignant.

Not long after, Dipika herself confirmed the diagnosis, stating that it was, in fact, stage 2 liver cancer. Many fans were taken aback by the news and have since been sending sincere well wishes and prayers for her health.

Now that Dipika has successfully undergone surgery, her journey toward recovery has begun.
