Diljit Dosanjh has added another feather to his cap by being voted the Best Dressed Celebrity at the Met Gala 2025 in a global Vogue readers’ poll, outshining style icons like Zendaya, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj. The celebrated Punjabi singer-actor made a stunning Met Gala debut this year, walking the red carpet in a look that paid tribute to his rich cultural roots and left fashion enthusiasts across the globe in awe.

In a year already packed with milestones—including his viral appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and his global Dil-Luminati tour—this win has cemented Diljit’s place as a global fashion force. According to Vogue, he topped the Best Dressed poll, beating 306 other celebrities. The poll, which featured 307 unique looks, saw Diljit emerge as the overwhelming favourite among readers.

Donning a regal ensemble by Atelier Prabal Gurung, Diljit celebrated Punjabi heritage with a modern flair. His outfit featured a cream matelassé tailored jacket adorned with rose gold floral crystal embroidery, a leopard print silk shirt, and sleek black leather pants. Complementing his bold look were his signature sunglasses and a spectacular multilayered necklace with an emerald centerpiece—evoking the grandeur of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala.

Notably, Diljit also wore a custom-crafted turban studded with jewels, topped with a feather, and held a lion-headed kirpan—a nod to Sikh tradition. The necklace was inspired by the historic Patiala Necklace, a legendary piece originally made by Cartier nearly 100 years ago. A Cartier watch completed the opulent look.

A standout element of Diljit’s outfit was his cape, hand-embroidered by 50 artisans over four days. The cape featured the map of Punjab alongside Gurmukhi script, embroidered with gold thread—blending history, identity, and craftsmanship in a powerful fashion statement.

Following Diljit on the Best Dressed list were S Coups in Boss, Zendaya in Louis Vuitton, Treyana Taylor in Ruth E. Carter, and Rihanna in Marc Jacobs. Other notable mentions included Shakira, Nicki Minaj, and Lewis Hamilton.

Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan, who also made his Met Gala debut this year, and Priyanka Chopra, a regular attendee, failed to make it to the top list. Kiara Advani, attending for the first time as a mom-to-be, also didn’t secure a spot.
