The attack on Saif Ali Khan at his Bandra residence has raised severe concerns about security lapse. However, one detail that continues to capture public attention is the decision for Saif's 7-year-old son, Taimur Ali Khan, to accompany him to Lilavati Hospital. The incident has sparked speculation and raised questions about the chaotic sequence of events following the late-night attack.
According to auto-rickshaw driver Bhajan Singh Rana, who transported Saif to the hospital just 2 km away, the actor was bleeding heavily but walked independently. Accompanying him were a "small child," believed to be Taimur, and another individual. "He (Saif Ali Khan) walked by himself and sat in the auto. He was injured. A small child and one more person were with him. He asked me "kitna time lagega (how much time it will take to reach the hospital)". We reached it in eight to ten minutes," the driver said.
Dr Niraj Uttamani, the neurosurgeon who operated on Saif, corroborated the account. He described Saif as arriving “like a lion” despite being drenched in blood. He was accompanied by Taimur and a caretaker. "I was the first one to meet Saif Ali Khan when he came to the hospital. He was drenched in blood, but he walked in like a lion with his small child, Taimur. Saif Ali Khan is a real hero," Dr Niraj Uttamani said in a media briefing.
Initially, reports suggested Saif’s eldest son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, or a domestic staff member had accompanied him. However, those claims were dismissed after the auto driver’s and doctor’s statements.
Sources hint at logistical hurdles. Allegedly, no family car or driver was ready at the time, prompting the use of an auto-rickshaw. Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif’s wife, was seen outside the building managing the aftermath but could not join him at the hospital.

The attack occurred between 2 and 2:30 AM. According to the FIR, the intruder initially entered the room of Saif’s younger son, Jehangir (Jeh), and demanded Rs 1 crore. Saif intervened, attempting to subdue the attacker but was stabbed six times, including in the thoracic spine.
The intruder fled via the building’s fire exit, and despite a massive police manhunt, he remains at large.
While Saif’s condition is now stable, the incident raises serious concerns about home security for high-profile figures.
