Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar 2 has garnered much hype ahead of its release this week. While fans are eagerly waiting to see Ranveer Singh as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, the audience is wondering whether the release date in March 18 or 19.
Dhurandhar: The revenge is set to hit the theatres on March 19 worldwide. But adding on to the excitement, the makers decided to have special paid previews on March 18.
Paid previews are special showings of the film before its actual release. The main idea behind paid previews is to generate interest and test the audience’s response. In this case, the paid previews of Dhurandhar 2 will be open for the public’s viewing a day before the official release. The public will get the opportunity to book tickets for the film as they do for other movies.
An interesting aspect is that the income generated by the paid preview show will also be included in the total earnings of the film. This way, the movie will already have gained some earnings before the day of its release.
However, the opportunity to watch the movie before its release comes with a cost. The tickets for the paid preview show are much higher than the regular ticket price. While the regular tickets are priced around Rs 200 and Rs 400, the tickets for the paid preview are reportedly priced around Rs 800 and Rs 1000. But in some theatres, the ticket price went as high as Rs 3100.
According to industry estimates, Dhurandhar 2’s collection from Paid Preview will be much higher than its first day collection.
Long Runtime
With just two days to go before its grand release, the excitement around this film has reached a fever pitch. Like its previous part, this film too has a long runtime of 3 hours and 52 minutes, making it one of the longest films in Indian cinema.
To meet the demand for this film, theatres are adding more shows to their schedules. Looking at the advance booking data on BookMyShow, it can be seen that several multiplexes are showing this film at unusual times, such as 2:15 AM, 2:45 AM, and 2:20 AM. In Mumbai, recliners for March 19 shows are available between Rs 550 and Rs 850.
The first part of this film, titled Dhurandhar, was released in December 2025 and became the highest-grossing film of that year, ruling the box office in a single language category.
The sequel brings back the strong ensemble cast, including Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt, all reprising their roles.
Directed and produced by Aditya Dhar along with Lokesh Dhar and Jyoti Deshpande, Dhurandhar: The Revenge will be released in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
