In a moment that has struck an emotional chord online, a small actor from Dhurandhar 2 has revealed that he hasn’t yet been able to watch his own film in theatres because the ticket price is beyond his reach.
The man, who plays an auto-rickshaw driver in the film’s final scene, was recently interviewed in a clip that is now going viral online. The reporter asked a simple question, whether he had watched the film yet.
He said that tickets are currently priced at around R500, and since Dhurandhar 2 has just released, he hasn’t been able to afford going to watch it yet.
“I haven’t seen it yet. The tickets are around Rs 500, and as you know, it has only just been released, so I haven’t been able to watch it yet," he said.
The conversation became even more touching when the reporter asked whether his children had asked to see the film, especially since their father appears in it. He admitted that they had, but explained the situation in a way that reflects the everyday struggles many families face.
The actor responded, “Yes, they did. But I told them that there are five of us, and it would cost Rs 2,500 in total. Rs 2,500 is what we manage to save in a month, so I didn’t take them. I told them we will wait a bit and watch it later.”
Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, has been on a record-breaking run since its release on 19 March. Starring Ranveer Singh alongside Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan and others, the film is the final instalment of the Dhurandhar series and follows an undercover Indian intelligence agent navigating dangerous missions while seeking justice.
In just four days, the film has crossed Rs 600 crore worldwide, with total collections reaching approximately Rs 691.32 crore. Its first Sunday alone brought in Rs 114.85 crore, pushing its India net to Rs 454.12 crore, while overseas collections stand strong at Rs 149.35 crore.
