Tamil actor, director and producer Dhanush is all set for his next movie, 'Kuberaa.' He was seen at the film's audio launch event recently, where he apparently took an indirect dig at Nayanthara.

For the uninitiated, Dhanush and Nayanthara have been locked in a legal battle since 2024 after she used a three-second clip in her Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, from Dhanush’s 2015 film, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.

While speaking at the audio launch of Kuberaa, Dhanush said there was a person who was trying to sabotage his image. Without taking any name, Dhanush said it was 'foolishness of that person' who tried to spread wrong information about him.

"You can spread as many rumors as you want about me, spread any negative news about me. Each time a movie of mine releases, there’s a negative campaign against me one and a half months before that. But you won’t be able to do anything, as my fans are my strong pillars of support. All those who are here are not just my fans but my companions of 23 years. If you thought that you could spread some rumors and end me, there can be nothing more foolish than that. You cannot even move a brick. Your thoughts decide how you live."

Dhanush thanked his fans and also called them his pillar of strength for the past 23 years.

Dhanush sent a legal notice to Nayanthara in November 2024 and sought Rs. 10 crore for the damages caused by the unauthorized use of BTS clips in her documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale.

After Dhanush's lawsuit, Nayanthara, also known as 'Lady Superstar,' wrote a letter on her social media addressing the issue: "We were startled to read those lines wherein you questioned the usage of some videos (just 3 seconds) that were shot on our personal devices and that too BTS visuals that are already very much publicly present on social media and claimed a sum of Rs. 10 crores as damages for the mere 3 seconds. This is an all-time low from you and speaks so much about your character. I wish you were half the person you portray to be on stage in audio launches in front of your innocent fans but clearly you do not practice what you preach, at least not for me and my partner."
