Actor-producer Ravi Mohan continues to face a setback with the usage of the title Bro Code for his upcoming film, which is backed by his production house Ravi Mohan studios. The use of the the title has been restrained by the Delhi High court. The banner cannot use, publish or promote the title Bro Code for the project. This order comes in days after Ravi Mohan Studios secured a win in the Madras High Court.
The single-judge order, issued on 14 October, had barred Ravi Mohan studies from using the title following a trademark infringement suit filed by Indospirit Beverages Private Limited, the company behind the carbonated wine-in-a-pint drink also known as BRO CODE. The court had stated that the studio’s use of an identical mark for a film title could cause confusion among consumers and dilute the 'goodwill' associated with Indospirit’s beverage brand.
Now, The Delhi High Court refused to lift the interim injunction restraining actor Ravi Mohan’s production company, Ravi Mohan Studios Private Limited, from using the title for his film.
