Deepika Padukone has embraced motherhood with all its joys and challenges. Since welcoming her daughter, Dua, with husband Ranveer Singh in September 2024, Deepika has often shared glimpses of her new journey. Though the couple has chosen to keep their daughter’s face away from the public eye, Deepika occasionally offers insights into her experiences as a first-time mom.
Recently, during an event hosted by Forbes in Abu Dhabi, Deepika was asked about the last thing she Googled. Her response was something every new mother could relate to. After pausing for a moment, she said, “Definitely some mommy question like ‘When will my baby stop spitting up?’ or something to that effect.” The response struck a chord with many, as countless new parents often find themselves frantically searching for answers online about their baby’s habits and behaviours.
Beyond motherhood, Deepika also opened up about an important phase in her life—her battle with mental health struggles. At Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Pariksha Pe Charcha 2025 event, she spoke candidly about her experience with depression. She recalled how, despite being a successful actor, she felt overwhelmed and lost. “After school, there were sports, then modeling, then acting. I worked continuously. One day in 2014, I passed out. A few days later, I realised I had depression. Depression is something we can't see. It’s invisible,” she said.
