After the theatrical run, Superstar Rajinikanth's much-anticipated action drama Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which released in the theatres on August 14, 2025, is still drawing crowds. While the movie is still playing in theatres, a lot of fans are already excited to find out when and where they can watch it online.

The people who made Coolie have confirmed that it will only be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video after it has been in theatres. During the opening credits of the movie, the news was made. There hasn't been an official release date yet, but early reports say the movie will come out on the platform about eight weeks after it comes out in theatres.

Plot and Trailer

Coolie takes place in Chennai and stars Deva (Rajinikanth), a former daily-wage labourer who now owns a home that looks like a dormitory. When Deva's close friend Rajasekhar dies in a strange way, he looks into it and ends up in the hazardous world of crime run by the merciless kingpin Simon Xavier (Nagarjuna). What starts as a search for justice quickly reveals a secret past that connects Deva and Simon, leading to a tense showdown.

The movie also stars Nagarjuna Akkineni, Upendra Rao, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Rachita Ram, Reba Monica John, Kanna Ravi, Monisha Blessy, Kaali Venkat, Rishikanth, Tamizh, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Baburaj.

Aamir Khan plays Dahaa, Shobana plays Deva's wife, and Pooja Hegde sings the song Monica.

Lokesh Kanagaraj directed and co-wrote the movie with Chandhru Anbazhagan. Anirudh Ravichander wrote the music, Girish Gangadharan filmed the movie, and Philomin Raj edited it.

Next for Rajinikanth is Jailer 2, the sequel to the hit movie Jailer from 2023. Nelson Dilipkumar is in charge of the movie, which will include Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar again. There are also rumours that Nandamuri Balakrishna would make a special appearance.
